In the Salamanca Declaration, World Conference of Special Education, adopted by representatives of 88 governments and 25 international organizations, are clearly stipulates the following amendments:
- every child has the fundamental right to education of every child should be given an opportunity to reach and to be able to maintain an acceptable level of learning;
- each child possesses characteristics, interests, aptitudes and learning needs of their own;
- educational systems design and implementation of educational programs must take into account the great diversity of characteristics and needs of children included in the educational program;
Each child is understood as an active participant in learning and teaching so that each brings itself in the complex process of learning and development experience, style of learning, a social model, a specific interaction, a personal rhythm, a kind of a cultural context to which they belong. In sum, social integration is prepared and conditioned of school integration. We have to provide services to children with special disabilities in order to develop harmoniously in its company. Looking tough educational strategies, teaching techniques, methods of socialization of children with disabilities I have found a method that has proved useful for children with disabilities and placing it in Romania could be of real use in special situations of these children.
METHOD TOMATIS
It all started when the famous physician Alfred Tomatis, born in France has discovered this ingenious method, and in 1980 began to be applied in special schools in that country and the results amazing for many children appeared. This method was applied 40 years ago by Professor Alfred Tomatis, audiologist and psycho-physiology, in disorders of hearing and language, this method is originally based on the relationship between ear and voice, and by extension, between listening and communication: it is a pedagogy of listening that allows subject to identify the desire to communicate, learning to use better the hearing before it.
"Many children who do not know to read or write, or calculate correctly have phonemic hearing difficulties. "Being the first sensorial organ developed by foetus, the ear is the true gateway to the universe in us. It acts as a dynamo of the brain and nervous system . Alfred Tomatis has shown that a hearing is not good enough to reproduce the sounds. In truth most of the disorders of language, spoken or written, are not related to hearing problems, but those listening, it is possible to hear well without being able to decode sounds perceived. In other words, the difficulties of perceiving sounds weights in training provision, and therefore difficulties to reproduce verbal. Consequently, reading is poor, and here's the problem, as well as those concentration and storage, communication beings affected.
At 18, Gérard Depardieu wanted to become a comediant but he suffered the terrible difficulties of language and elocution. In his biography written by Paul Chutkov in 1994, Gérard Depardieu said: "Alfred Tomatis revealed me the word art. Before Tomatis , I never got to complete my phrases. He is the one who allowed me to have a space continuity in my mind, a spirit of synthesis ... It was the second birth ... "All the centers that have chosen to apply the Tomatis Method have been equipped with an electronic device built and named by Tomatis The Electronic Ear which enables the reeducation of ear in the sense of giving back the real function, that of listening. Tomatis Method has been rigorously tested and has proven to be very effective in the treatment of learning difficulties and behavioral problems.
In 1999, Tim Gilmor published a meta-analysis based on 5 (five) studies which involved 231 children. The studies were published in the Journal of International Listening. A meta-analysis is a statistical tool very powerful and is widely used in medical research. This study showed that the Tomatis method improves foarte mult: very much:

- Mental and motor skills
- Social , cognitive skills,
This meta-analysis was based on following studies:
- Dr. - Dr. , who studied 102 children at the Tomatis Center in Toronto
- Dr. of the University of Windsor, Ontario, who studied 25 children with learning difficulties aged between 9 and 14 years, aiming them over a period of one year.
- Dr. of the University of North Shore, who studied 26 preschool children with speech difficulties over a period of five months.
- Dr. Institute of Ontario, which followed the progress of 32 children aged between 8 and 12 years.
Since January 2006, thousands of Polish children with learning difficulties of all kinds have access to the Tomatis method, the psycho-pedagogy 200 centers spread all over the country. Polish Ministry of National Education has decided to equip itself the centers with an important tool (Tomatis method) designed to contribute to the integration of school pupils who suffers from difficulties of learning, and even behavioral disorders.
Wanting to fight in a manner effective against school failure, important factors chosed Tomatis method, after it was recognized worldwide and experienced with successfully for many years in the Institute of Physiology and Pathology of the ear from Warsaw.
Also, Tomatis Center in Toronto - Canada has studied the results of Listening Therapy to over 400 children and teenagers. They were diagnosed with severe learning problems. Treatment outcome was communicated by parents. In this test, 95% of parents responded to questions and specialists have to communicate how the program had helped children. The parents saw improvements as:

During the early `80, The Tomatis method began to be used in several schools in France with funds allocated by the Ministry of Education.Children are selected according to the severity of school difficulties. During this program the results were surprisingly good and parents have asked Tomatis Program to continue year after year.Parents have seen positive and lasting changes in the life of their children and have made every effort to continue this program.
In 1983, De Bruto - South Africa, led a research to see the effectiveness of this method people with mental delay. 30 people aged between 4 and 14 years who were diagnosed with severe mental delay, but with the ability to work were divided into 3 groups: Group A: hearing stimulation (Tomatis method) and a program of incentives senzo-motor; Group B: stimulation through music (without the Tomatis Method ) and the same incentive program senzo-motor; Group C: no treatment. The results showed that both groups (A, B) showed an increase in mental age, but the increase in group A which used the Tomatis method was bigger. No changes in group C.

Tomatis Method can help people who have ADHD. "We need to educate the ear to listen, to perceive the sounds properly," said Dr Jean Ayres. Right ear processes information more quickly because transmitting information directly to the left brain, which specializes in speech processing. So, left ear transmits information to the right side of the brain which can not process speech.
DISLEXIA. Made clinical experiences have shown that most people that have this disease will be able to read, write and learn better by educated the ears.
Autism. Therapy using Tomatis listening can improve the life of many people diagnosed with autism.
